EMILY's List Inauguration Brunch

Washington, DC
Sunday, January 20, 2013

EMILY's List, a group that works to elect pro-choice and women candidates, held an Inauguration Brunch, with remarks by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA), Massachusetts Senator Elizabeth Warren (D), Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill (D), and Hawaii Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (D).

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard represents Hawaii's 2nd congressional district. She is the first American Samoan, the first Hindu member, and, along with Tammy Duckworth, one of the first female combat veterans in the United States Congress.

The brunch included newly-elected and currently serving female politicians.

"Women voters across the country elected a record number of pro-choice Democratic women and helped reelect the President because they wanted leaders who will fight for policies that benefit women and families," said Stephanie Schriock, President of EMILY’s List, in a statement announcing the event.
