Education Secretary Speaks at White House Daily Briefing

Education Secretary Arne Duncan delivered remarks at the daily White House briefing.  He warned of the impact of the upcoming automatic spending cuts, known as sequestration, to education programs. Secretary Duncan discussed possible spending cuts to early childhood, K-12 and higher education along with Impact Aid funds which involve military families and Native American education programs.  

Press secretary Jay Carney also answered reporters' questions regarding this coming Friday’s meeting between President Obama and Congressional leaders on sequestration.

We visited to learn the history of GPO and to see some of their historic printing jobs, including the "Official Records of the War of the Rebellion," which took twenty years to print, and the twenty-seven volume "Warren Commission Report on the Assassination of President Kennedy."
