Google Hangout: High Tech Campaigning

Washington, DC
Tuesday, July 31, 2012

Four years ago Obama supporters read the news of Joe Biden being picked as the Vice President not just in a newspaper but via a text message. This campaign season, Mitt Romney supporters will read the news of his vice presidential selection via an app they download on their phone.

Romney's campaign is not the only one using the new technology to lure voters, Obama for America announced a new app of their own. Their campaign hopes the app will help build the largest grassroots campaign in history.

Political editor Steve Scully was joined by New York Times' Michael Shear and Huffington Post's Ethan Klapper in a Google Hangout to discuss these issues.
