Gov. Deval Patrick (D-MA) on Wednesday named  his former chief of staff, William "Mo" Cowan, to be the interim pick to fill the state's vacated Senate seat. Sen. John Kerry (D) is stepping down to become Secretary of State. Cowan will hold the position until a special election takes place on June 25.
