The Congressional Gun Violence Prevention Task Force held a hearing on the steps that Congress can take to reduce gun violence, while respecting 2nd Amendment rights.
Witnesses included: Gaspar Perricone, president of the Bull Moose Sportsmen's Alliance; David Chipman, former special agent at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF); Marc LeForestier, deputy attorney general at the California Department of Justice; Robert Ross, president and CEO of The California Endowment; and James Cummings, hunter, sportsman, gun owner and NRA member.
This was the second meeting held by the task force and their recommendations are likely to be released in early February.
Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) chairs the task force.
