On September 8th, 1974, President Gerald Ford pardoned his predecessor, President Nixon, for his involvement in Watergate. Barry Werth discusses his book "31 Days: Gerald Ford, the Nixon Pardon, and a Government in Crisis," which chronicles the first month of the Ford Administration and the days leading up to the pardon. He also describes the challenges President Ford faced on his arrival at the White House - including balancing two mistrustful staffs: his own and that of former President Nixon. This talk took place at the Ford Presidential Library in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
