At the 2012 Annual Lavender Law Conference, the LGBT Bar Association hosts a panel discussion on the military in the post "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" period and it's position on transgender members.

Despite the military's huge leap forward in regards to the lesbian and gay community, transgender soldiers can still be immediately discharged for a diagnosis of "Gender Identity Disorder."

The panel includes former military service members and lawyers with experience in the area of transgender rights. The annual conference runs through Saturday in Washington, DC.
