Minority Leader Pelosi Speaks on the 'Fiscal Cliff'

Washington, DC
Wednesday, December 19, 2012

Minority leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told reporters today that House Speaker Boehner's proposed "Plan B," which would raise taxes for those making over $1 million dollars if passed, shuts off the opportunities for a compromise with President Obama and would force the country over the "fiscal cliff" at the beginning of the year.

Repeating her support for President Obama's plan to raise taxes on families making over $250,000, Pelosi said, "We are there for the middle class."

She added that Speaker Boehner's "Plan B" would give millionaires a $50,000 tax cut while sending "the bill to our children and grandchildren."
