NRA President David Keene Thursday said his organization will withhold judgment on efforts to expand background checks for gun sales until there is actual legislation put forward by Congress. Speaking with reporters, Mr. Keene said some restrictions on large capacity magazines may pass legal muster in the Courts. He also said the AR-15 semi automatic rifle should not be on any list of banned assault weapons. That’s the same gun used by James Holmes, the alleged movie-theater shooter in Aurora, Colorado.
Keene met with members of the media at a Christian Science Monitor Breakfast.
