Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee hold a hearing entitled “Gun Violence Prevention: A Call to Action.” The hearing looks at what can be done to prevent future gun violence.
Local government officials appear alongside Janet Robinson, Superintendent of Schools in Newtown, Connecticut, as well as Gabrielle Giffords staffer Gabe Zimmerman's mother. The panel recount their personal experiences with gun violence and present a wide range of expertise from a regional perspective.
Panelists include: City of Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter; Scott Knight, Chief of Police, City of Chaska, Minnesota and Former Chair of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) Firearms Committee and Ms. Emily Nottingham, Mother of Gabe Zimmerman.
