Maj. Gen. Charlie Lyon, Air Combat Command's Director of Operations, briefs reporters on the Air Force Scientific Advisory Board study into life support systems installed on the F-22. He will also discuss F-22 operations.
He told reporters that the Air Force believes it has identified the cause of breathing problems among F-22 pilots, citing a valve that doesn't work on the pressure suit that pilots wear. It appears to malfunction only in the F-22. The same life support system in F-16s does not pose these problems.
