Sen. McCain Discusses Situation in Syria

Washington, DC
Monday, June 18, 2012

Senator John McCain continues to criticize the Obama administration for its approach to the Syrian conflict. The Ranking Member of the Armed Services Committee is calling for the U.S. to more actively assist the Syrian opposition.

The American Enterprise Institute in Washington, DC hosted the Senator Monday, and he also took questions from the audience. He was joined by a Syrian activist, the Senior Editor of the Weekly Standard and others. One estimate puts the death toll in Syria at about 15,000 since the start of protests in March of 2011.
