Senate Budget Committee Chairman Patty Murray (D-WA) conducted a hearing Wednesday to release, mark up, and vote on the Concurrent Resolution on the Budget for Fiscal Year 2014.
Before releasing her budget, Chairman Murray stated last month that "it just doesn’t make sense to replace our budget deficit with deficits in education, infrastructure and research and development. If we cut our budget deficit by giving up on the investments we need to compete globally in the 21st century economy."
The mark up continues in the Senate Banking Committee on Thursday with debate and votes on amendments and the bill.
Over in the House, House Budget Chairman Paul Ryan (R-WI) released his 2014 budget resolution for markup in his committee.
