National transportation association directors and civil engineers are joined by Virginia's Transportation Sec. Sean Connaughton to testify before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee on federal transportation funding.
In a hearing titled "The Need to Invest in America's Infrastructure and Preserve Federal Transportation Funding," Committee Chairwoman Boxer (D-CA) looks into the Obama Administration's transportation policies. She also discusses the Transportation Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (TIFIA) program that she has said will help "leverage local transportation dollars to build highway and transit projects."
Witnesses include Covington & Burling counsel Jack Schenendorf; Ruffalo & Associates President Kathy Ruffalo; and Peter J. Basso, principal, Peter J. Basso and Associates, LLC. Additional panels include: American Highway Users Alliance President & CEO Gregory Cohen; Ray Poupore, executive vice president, National Construction Alliance; and American Society of Civil Engineers President Gregory DiLoreto.
