Senators Discuss Situation in Syria

Last week several Senators traveled to the Middle East and Afghanistan. On Tuesday Senators John McCain (R-AZ), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Kelly Ayotte (R-NH), Chris Coons (D-DE) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) held a press conference to discuss the situation in Syria and the Middle East.

House Budget Chairman Releases Budget Proposal

House Budget Cmte. Chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) and other GOP members on the budget committee release their proposal for a FY2014 budget. Rep. Ryan says his proposal will balance the budget in ten years and his calculations are based on repealing the Obama health care act.

U.N. Approves Sanctions Aimed at North Korea

The U.N. Security Council unanimously approved a fourth round of sanctions against North Korea aimed at slowing down its nuclear programs.  The resolution was drafted by the United States and China, North Korea's closest ally. The council's agreement to put the resolution to a vote just 48 hours later signaled that it would almost certainly have the support of all 15 council members.
