Ambassadors from the four most recent administrations discussed the future of U.S.-Asia relations under the next administration.
On the panel were:
Dr. Kurt Campbell, serves as assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs under President Obama. Ambassador Christopher Hill served in the same role under President George W. Bush, from April 2005 – April 2009. Ambassador Winston Lord served as United States Ambassador to China under President Reagan, and Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs under President Clinton. He was also part of the U.S. delegation during President Richard Nixon's historic visit to China and was on President Ford's visit in 1975. Ambassador Richard Solomon was assistant secretary of state for East Asian and Pacific affairs from 1989 to 1992 under George H.W. Bush.
