A group of law experts, including law professors, lawyers and journalists, looked at the upcoming docket for the Supreme Court, which begins its term on October 1.
This term is expected to include cases about affirmative action, international law and the alien tort statute, national security, and criminal law. The term could also include cases regarding gay marriage in California or the federal Defense of Marriage Act.
