Utah Gov. Gary Herbert (R) spoke about his state’s efforts to reform health care and ongoing disputes with the federal government over the 2010 health care law at the American Enterprise Institute on Wednesday.
Last December, the state of Utah asked the federal government to allow Utah to maintain control of a health insurance exchange for small businesses while releasing control of the individual consumer market to Washington, but that hasn't been fully resolved.
Insurance exchanges are the portion of the health care law designed to provide coverage for those who don’t already have it through their employers.
Gov. Herbert discussed innovative and effective state-led health policy reform, as well as the state of Utah’s exchange and Utah's approach to Medicaid reform.
