World Affairs Councils of America Hosts Annual Conference

Former National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley, Ambassadors and experts in foreign policy discuss the top national security and policy issues for 2013, including economic competitiveness and the lingering effects of the Arab Spring.

Hadley begins with a broad look at the major foreign policy challenges for the upcoming year, and is followed by panels discussing the U.S.-Pakistan relationship, Iran and Israel, the Arab Spring's aftermath and economic competitiveness.

The World Affairs Councils of America has nearly 100 councils across 40 states dedicated to educating people about foreign policy.

U.N. Approves Sanctions Aimed at North Korea

The U.N. Security Council unanimously approved a fourth round of sanctions against North Korea aimed at slowing down its nuclear programs.  The resolution was drafted by the United States and China, North Korea's closest ally. The council's agreement to put the resolution to a vote just 48 hours later signaled that it would almost certainly have the support of all 15 council members.
