Our third stop as Book TV and American History TV travel on the 2011 LCV Cities Tour is Charleston, South Carolina. Join us on the weekend of July 30-31 as we explore the literary culture and history of this city where the first shots of the Civil War were fired 150 years ago.
On Book TV, we take you inside the literary scene to learn about Charleston’s past and present – visiting rare book collections and meeting some of those authors who have chronicled the people, events, and places that have made the city what it is today. And on American History Television - we travel to historic sites that span the American Revolution through the Civil War up to and including the Jim Crow era of this southern port city.
