C-SPAN on the Road
Our first stop on the 2011 LCV Cities Tour is the Tampa/St. Petersburg area. Join us during Memorial Day weekend (May 28-30) as we explore the history and literary life of this Gulf Coast area.
On C-SPAN 2’s Book TV we’ll visit local independent bookstores such as Haslem’s and meet with Tampa area authors.
On C-SPAN 3’s American History TV (AHTV) we look at the history of the region from the Spanish Conquistadors and their contact with Native Americans through the Civil War, and up to the first commercial airline flight in the U.S. from St. Petersburg to Tampa.
