    State Department Daily Briefing

    Mark Toner briefed reporters and responded to questions on a range of issues, including a State Department audit faulting former Secretary Clinton on the handling of her emails. Mr. Toner said his department “could have done a better job” of preserving records and emails during several administrations. He also told reporters the agency was aware of hacking attempts on Hillary Clinton’s server, but none of them were successful.
