    Hollywood and the Passage of the 13th Amendment

    Matthew Pinsker talked about Stephen Spielberg’s film, Lincoln, analyzing what was fact and what was Hollywood fiction. Professor Pinsker spoke about the historical significance of the events the movie portrays, but also the areas where Mr. Spielberg exercised his artistic freedom. This talk was a portion of the 2014 Civil War Symposium hosted by the U.S. Capitol Historical Society.
