Book Discussion on Reading Lolita in Tehran
Professor Nafisi discussed her new book, Reading Lolita in Tehran: A Memoir in Books, published by Random House. Ms. Nafisi is a former professor at the University of Tehran; she now teaches at Johns Hopkins University. The author related her experiences reading banned books in Iran. She also argued for the importance of literature and imagination, and discussed her experiences during the Iran-Iraq War. Following her remarks, Professor Nafisi answered audience questions.238 views

Professor Waugh, the author of Unsentimental Reformer: The Life of Josephine Shaw Lowell, published by Harvard University Press, moderated the event.
