Wev Shea, a Republican and former U.S. Attorney in Alaska, wrote about alleged misconduct by Justice Department prosecutors and FBI officials involved in the Stevens trial and investigation. The FBI obtained a letter written by Sen. Stevens to Mr. Shea in June 2007 in which Stevens said he and his wife paid over $130,000 for VECO-supervised renovations to their home in Girdwood, Alaska.
