GM files for bankruptcy protection

General Motors Corp. (GM), filed for bankruptcy protection today and plans to sell a majority of its assets to a new company. GM Pres. and CEO Fritz Henderson discussed the bankruptcy filing. Earlier, Pres. Obama remarked on the state of the auto industry.
