The Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Cmte. considered the nomination of Julius Genachowski to be chairman of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). As chairman, Genachowski is likely to push for expanding broadband services and enforcing net neutrality for Internet services providers. Currently, Michael Copps is serving as Acting Chairman.
