FCC Begins Work on Expanding Broadband Services

In his first hearing since being confirmed, Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski discussed plans to expand broadband. In the effort to reach underserved areas, $7.2 billion in stimulus funds have been set aside to develop a national broadband plan. Chairman Genachowski & several Commissioners are testifying on other FCC priorities before a House Energy and Commerce Subcmte.
