During this Hse. Financial Services Cmte. hearing on regulatory reform, Treasury Sec. Geithner endorsed a bill to shift the costs of rescuing large financial institutions from taxpayers to big banks and hedge funds. Also, the release of the Gross Domestic Product number (GDP) indicates a rise at an annual rate of of 3.5 percent in the third quarter and was a topic of discussion at the hearing.
