C-SPAN derives it's funding through monthly fees paid by the cable systems that carry C-SPAN. C-SPAN's operating budget is $30,586,000 with the fiscal year ending March 31, 1998. Funding for C-SPAN is allocated in the following increments:

25% Marketing
14% Operations
9% Distribution/Maintenance
