Throughout the month of August C-SPAN Radio's American Political Archive brought interviews from author Robert Remini, now Historian of the House of Representatives. He conducted the following interview for his narrative history, "The House: The History of the House of Representatives," which was published in April. Also, hear oral history from television and radio personality Arnold Michaelis who, in 1958, began recording audio, film, and video interviews with some of the world's leading political and cultural personalities. These recordings are courtesy of The Arnold Michaelis Library of Living History, part of the Walter Brown Media Archives and the Peabody Awards Collection at the University of Georgia.
 
 
FMR. SPEAKER OF THE HOUSE NEWT GINGRICH
American Political Archive presents a July 2004 interview with Newt Gingrich conducted by author Robert Remini. Gingrich was the Speaker of the House of Representatives from 1995 to 1999. In 1995, he was named Time Magazine's "Man of the Year" for his role in leading the Republican Revolution in Congress, ending 40 years of Democratic majorities in the House.
