RICHARD NIXON: ORAL INTERVIEWS

Richard Nixon was elected president of the United States in 1968 in one of the closest presidential elections in the nation's history and in 1972 was reelected in a landslide victory. Nixon's second administration, however, was consumed by the growing Watergate scandal, which eventually forced him to resign to avoid impeachment.

Each week during October and November, C-SPAN Radio's American Political Archive features a unique look at former President Nixon through the eyes of some of his closest advisers and White House staff, those who helped expose Watergate, and those responsible for the investigation and prosecution of the president.

Gerald and Deborah Hart Strober conducted these interviews while working on their book "Nixon: An Oral History of His Presidency," published in 1994. The recordings are being broadcast for the first time ever on radio or television.
