ICYMI: C-SPAN Programming Highlights

Missed programs on the C-SPAN networks over the past few days and want to watch the archived video?

Here are some events from the week:

On Tuesday, President Obama addressed the United Nationals Climate Summit about U.S. policies aimed at reducing the country's carbon footprint and a new executive order requiring federal agencies to consider climate change when providing aid overseas.

He also addressed the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday to outline a global strategy toward fighting Islamic State (ISIL/ISIS) militants in Syria and Iraq and spoke about racial tensions in the U.S., citing the police shooting of unarmed teenager Michal Brown in Ferguson, Missouri.

Later that day, President Obama presided over a U.N. Security Council meeting on a resolution that would require countries to prosecute individuals who leave their home countries to join extremist groups such as the Islamic State. Members unanimously passed the resolution.

On Thursday, he addressed the U.N. General Assembly a second time, this time to urge world leaders to act to curb the Ebola outbreak in West Africa.

On Wednesday, candedates Barbara Comstock (R) and challenger John Foust (D) faced off in a debate in the Virginia's 10th Congressional District race to fill the seat left vacant after 17-term Representative Frank Wolf (R) announced his retirement earlier this year.

Incumbent Representative Brad Ashford (R) and challenger State Senator Lee Terry (D) took part in a debate for Nebraska's 2nd Congressional District seat on Thursday.

Attorney General Eric Holder announced his resignation from his post in a statement at the White House with President Obama Thursday.

On Friday, the Family Research Council kicked off its annual Values Voters Summit, featuring speakers including former Senator Rick Santorum (R-PA), Reresentative Jim Jordan (R-OH), Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) and Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX).
