Brat stunned Washington when he defeated House Majority Leader Eric Cantor by 10 points in the June 10 Republican primary, thus ending Cantor's 13-year political career. Cantor stepped down as majority leader in July and resigned from Congress on August 18. He now works as an investment banker on Wall Street with the investment firm Moelis and Co.
