SIGNIFICANT EVENTS DURING THE 1980'S.  The information and clips below describe significant events of the 1980's and President Reagan's involvement in or response to them.  

 Significant Events (1981-1989)
Assassination Attempt  In March 1981, President Reagan was wounded by the bullet of John Hinckley outside a Washington, DC hotel. The President recovered. Press Secretary James Brady was shot and paralyzed in the same incident. Use this video to answer questions: Was the president's condition serious? Do you think the threat of assassination is a serious concern for presidents?
