PRIZES

ENTRY CATEGORIES & PRIZES Middle School (grades 6,7,8) and High School (9,10,11,12); 30 prizes, valued at $50,000.

GRAND PRIZE: 1 award to the best overall entry
Student wins: $1,500 in cash and a 5-day "Looking for Lincoln Illinois Road Trip" beginning in Springfield, Illinois on Thursday, April 14th, 2005 and culminating at the Lincoln Museum on Tuesday, April 19th (to be accompanied by a parent/guardian whose trip will also be provided); an invitation to read his/her essay at the nationally televised opening ceremonies of the Lincoln Museum in Springfield, Illinois, on April 19th.
Teacher wins: The faculty member, designated by the grand prize winning student or his/her school, will receive round trip transportation and accommodations to attend the Museum opening ceremonies on Tuesday, April 19th.

FIRST PRIZE: 9 awards
Student wins: $750 in cash and a 5-day "Looking for Lincoln Illinois Road Trip" beginning in Springfield, Illinois on Thursday, April 14th, 2005 and culminating at the Museum on Tuesday, April 19th (to be accompanied by a parent/guardian whose trip will also be provided).

HONORABLE MENTION: 20 awards
Student wins: $50 in cash
