The C-SPAN School Bus was launched in 1993 to demonstrate cable's commitment to education. We added a second C-SPAN School Bus on January 1, 1996 to respond to the many requests from schools and our local affiliates.

    About the C-SPAN School Bus
Each C-SPAN School Bus is a 45-foot, bright yellow "Custom Coach," specially outfitted with video monitors, computers and television equipment. Half of the Bus serves as a mobile classroom while the other half functions as a working production studio.

The primary goals of the Bus tour are to introduce teachers and students to
C-SPAN as an educational resource and to reinforce the value of cable television among key publics. Another obvious and important goal is to emphasize in each community that C-SPAN is created by cable and offered as a public service.
