Each Time I Attempt to View a Videoclip, I Get a Message That the Player Could Not Connect. What Should I Do?
First, make sure your connection settings are correct on the preferences menu and try to view the clip again. If it is still giving problems then try to re-install the newest version of the RealPlayer.

Do You Keep Permanent video Archives of Special Programming such as Watergate and the Clinton Impeachment?
C-SPAN can't commit to permanently archiving all video aired on the network via the website because of the substantial costs involved in digital video storage. Most programming which is available online is archived for two weeks. There are occassions where programming is archived on a longer basis. Due to space limitations online, most events are available on C-SPAN.org for a few weeks.

I Am Getting a "Net Congestion Message" When I Try To View Video Online. What Should I Do?
This is caused by heavy traffic coming to the RealServer at the same time you call up the file. Check the connection speed in the preferences menu and make sure it is the correct set-up for your modem. All of the files are encoded at both 100kbps and 20kbps for those users with smaller bandwidth capabilities. If you continue to receive Net Congestion message, install the latest version of the player.

Can I Download a Video File to my Computer to Watch at my Convenience?
C-SPAN's video files are not available for downloading - only streaming video is available which can be viewed using the RealPlayer.

I Missed the Beginning of a Program. Can I watch it Online?
C-SPAN provides a limited archive of programming on the web site including live coverage of events and the Networks' signature programming such as Booknotes, Washington Journal and Road to the White House. Viewers can use the search feature on the site to identify which programs have been archived in order to see a complete program.
