Act An ACT is the term used for a bill which has passed both chambers of Congress, "An Act of Congress."

It is also used when a bill has passed a single chamber, e.g. "An Act of the House," or "An Act of the Senate."

Finally, it is also properly used when a measure has been enacted into law, receiving the approval of the President.
