DISAPPEARING QUORUM

A DISAPPEARING QUORUM is when senators leave the floor and refuse to answer a quorum call.

Disappearing quorums are planned to force the Senate to adjourn.

In the absence of a quorum, the Senate may not conduct legislative business.

Instead, the Senate must either adjourn or leaders may continue to make motions to obtain a quorum.
