C-SPAN Radio's Supreme Court Historic Oral Argument: John Roberts Argues Before the Supreme Court

The Supreme Court’s new term starts on Monday, October 1st, with Chief Justice John Roberts presiding. You’ll hear portions of two cases argued by John Roberts before he became Chief Justice on Saturday, September 29  on C-SPAN Radio’s Historic Supreme Court Oral Argument.

As a private practice attorney, John Roberts represented the respondent in a 2000 case about voting rights and ethnic background: “Harold Rice, petitioner v. Ben Cayetano, Governor of Hawaii, respondent.”  And you’ll hear John Roberts
argue for the petitioners in “ Gonzaga University and others, petitioners v. John Doe, respondent”—a 2002 case about the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974.

You’ll also hear C-SPAN Radio’s interview with Associate Law Professor Lisa McElroy, who interviewed Justice Roberts for her book John G. Roberts, Jr: Chief Justice.
