Center for American Progress Experts Discuss Election 2012

Washington, DC
Tuesday, September 25, 2012

The Center for American Progress hosted a panel discussion on the 2012 election and a new paper, “The Path to 270 Revisited.”

The report, authored by Ruy Teixeira and John Halpin of the Center for American Progress, argues that the outcome of the 2012 election will be determined by the shifting demographic balance of the American electorate and the objective reality and voter perception of the economy in key battleground states.

The original report, “The Path to 270," was released in November of 2011.

Panelists included Atlantic Media Political Director Ronald Brownstein, Greenberg Quinlan Rosner Research Senior Vice President Anna Greenberg, National Review Online’s The Agenda Editor Reihan Salam and America’s Voice Executive Director Frank Sharry.

Center for American Progress Senior Fellow Ruy Teixeira moderated the discussion.
