Officials Discuss Inauguration Day Preparations and Activities

Representatives from the Presidential Inaugural Committee, the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Events, the U.S. Capitol Police and the military held a news conference Wednesday on inauguration day preparations and activities. Presidential Inaugural Committee Communications Director Brent Colburn said the inaugural ceremonies should flow smoothly, learning from previous challenges from President Obama’s 2009 inauguration. He said the inaugural ceremonies will reflect the diversity of the nation. After remarks, the panel took questions from the press.

Other participants included: Matt House, Press Secretary for the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Events;Officer Shennell Antrobus, U.S. Capitol Police; Colonel Michelle Roberts, Public Affairs Director of the Joint Task Force-National Capitol Region and a Secret Service spokesperson layed out the schedule of events and report on the latest developments.

The panel then took questions from the media.
