Washington, DC & Appleton, WI
Friday, September 28, 2012

President Obama & First Lady Michelle Obama will attend separate campaign events today.  Pres. Obama delivered remarks at a fundraiser in Washington, DC - the first of three fundraisers; First Lady Michelle Obama spoke at a rally in Appleton, Wisconsin.

The First Lady's grassroots event, part of the Obama for America campaign's "It Takes One" effort, was held at Lawrence University's Alexander Gymnasium.  Wisconsin - one of the battleground states in 2012 - is home to Republican vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan. Gov. Scott Walker (R) won a recall election back in June.  The President campaigned in Milwaukee last Saturday.

According to a recent poll by NBC/Wall Street Journal/Marist, President Obama is leading in the state 50-45 percent.
