Conservative political activists and politicians focused on the upcoming presidential election during Friday’s session of the seventh annual 2012 Values Voter Summit, organized by the Family Research Council (FRC). The summit takes place September 14-16.
Throughout the day, speakers discussed the overall conservative strategy in this election season with speeches from leading politicians and personalities.
Earlier in the day, Republican vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan addressed the summit along with House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) and Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY). Other speakers included Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC).
Friday afternoon, Virginian Governor Bob McDonnell and Connie Mackey, President of FRC’s Action PAC, addressed the audience. Gary Bauer, President of American Values also spoke.
Sponsored by the Family Research Council, the event brings together conservatives from across the nation to promote their political agenda on "pro-family policies" and share concerns about the economy, as well as other issues.
