Vice President Biden, along with his wife Jill, campaign in Virginia on Saturday. They attend an event at the Lynchburg City Armory in the afternoon. A previously scheduled stop in Virginia Beach was cancelled due to the approach of Hurricane Sandy.
VP Biden's son Beau Biden, who is the Attorney General of Delaware and is also in the National Guard, was originally scheduled to join him in Lynchburg, but preparations for the upcoming hurricane forced him to change his plans.
Joe Biden told the crowd, "my son Beau is the Attorney-General of Delaware, and a national guard member, and he just literally drove down from Wilmington, he was sitting in Air Force Two as we were about to take off, and … he called and said “Dad, the Governor has just called up the National Guard. I’m going home"."
President Obama campaigned in Richmond on Thursday, while Mitt Romney was scheduled to have two events in Virginia on Sunday, but was forced to cancel both because of Hurricane Sandy. Romney will campaign in Ohio with his running mate Paul Ryan, instead.
