Topic: Guest will discuss the role energy issues are playing in the campaign including Mitt Romney’s plan for energy independence by the year 2020 – and Republican attacks on President Obama’s green jobs record.

Topic: The Centers for Disease Control has provided approximately $9B since 2002 to help states and localities prepare for public health emergencies. Most of the funds come through grants offered to states in times of emergencies while another program funds the Strategic National Stockpile, a storehouse of medicine and medical supplies.  Public health organizations are at the forefront of care at these times, so the guest will discuss how emergencies are assessed and managed.  He’ll also discuss about possible cuts in funding for these programs in light of pending mandatory budget cuts.
