Where can I find a listing of the salaries for all the staffs of the House and Senate, as well as other expenditures of the Congress? St. Petersburg, Florida - 5/3/00

You can find information on the salaries and expenditures of the House of Representatives in a report called "Statement of Disbursements of the House," compiled by the Chief Administrative Officer [CAO] of the House. The report, published as a House Document, is issued quarterly so it is important to remember that the amounts contained in it are not annual figures.

Salaries and expenditures of the U.S. Senate are contained in the "Report of the Secretary of the Senate," compiled by the Secretary of the Senate, and issued twice a year as a Senate Document.

The House and Senate do not post these reports on the Internet.

Both can be viewed at Federal Depository Libraries or can be purchased through the Government Printing Office [GPO], or obtained as long as supplies remain, from the House or Senate Document Rooms.

For the Federal Depository Library nearest you, visit their on-line index.

To obtain ordering information from the Government Printing Office, visit their on-line bookstore.

To contact the House or Senate document room:

To obtain Senate materials, call the Senate Document Room at (202) 224-7860 or fax them at (202) 228-2815.
