Immigration Legislation

A new immigration bill Senate Bill, S. 1639, was introduced by Sens. Ted Kennedy (D-MA) and Arlen Specter (R-PA). The new bill is the same as the failed Senate bill Comprehensive Immigration Reform Bill, S.1348, that was put together by a small group of bipartisan senators working with Pres. Bush. This time around the same Senators who defeated the bill are working a on an immigration reform bill by attaching a series of amendments.
