Richard Dauch was honored as Crane’s Detroit Business 1997 newsmaker of the year. He spoke about labor productivity, the manufacturing process and changes he made to American Axle. Throughout the speech, he stressed the importance of U.S. workers in making U.S. manufacturing competitive in a global market. American Axle was a subdivision of General Motors when Dauch assumed leadership in 1994. close
